Description
A Georgian Continental Pedestal Stem Wine Glass.
It has a pointed round funnel bowl above a shoulder cushion knop and a six sided hollow pedestal stem above a conical folded foot. The bowl has also been beautifully engraved with a horses head surrounded by a laurel wreath and the foot has a continious engraved band. We have seen similar dated engravings to commemorate the victory of a horse in a race. this may be such an example.
Soda glass . no chips cracks or restoration it measures 6 inches tall with a 2 1/2 inch bowl and 2 6/8 inch foot. Glasses of this form were made in both soda and lead in England.
