SOLD- Amethyst Gilded Rummer Glass c1830

Description

A superbly gilded 19th century amethyst glass rummer c1830.

The bowl is octagonal with a gold gilded rim and a beautifully gilded scene of a lady and gentleman in period dress. the gentleman offering flowers. It has a cushion knop above an eight side foot. Most probably south bohemian in origin. Silberg and Georgenthal have been suggested by collectors. no chips cracks or restoration. it has some very minor loss of gilt and a few pin pricks on the foot. This is typical of the Germanic romantic style.

It measures 5 3/8 inches tall with a 3 inch bowl and 2 ¾ inch foot.
