Bowl Features : Engraved with a windmill. church and the tools of the mason. The landscape is highly reminiscent of scenes painted on early delft. weesp and amstel porcelain of the 18th century. This could allude to the craft being a supporter of both industry and the church. The combined use of these symbols will invariably have meaning within masonry.

Glass Type : Low lead. The addition of lead oxide is not unusual it has been used in glass in the low countries for far longer that many anticipate. atleast the mid 18th century.
Size : 6 ¾ inches tall with a 3 3/8 inch bowl and 3 1/2 inch foot

“The Masonic symbols are the square and compass. A plumb “rule” is a symbol of the “upright” and justice. The triangle comes from the Fourth Degree (Holy Royal Arch) and represents the three principles who rule the chapter – Zerrubabel – Prince of the People. Haggai. the Prophet. and…. Josuah son of Josedect the High Priest. The last two are also books in the Old Testament – and the Torah. Alternatively. the Triangle might be the’ Level’ in which case you have. the square and compasses representing the Master… The level for Equality and representing the Senior Warden. and the Plumb Rule for Uprightness representing the Junior Warden. “
