Description
A superb Georgian Baluster Wine Glass which dates to around 1750.
Hessen. Germany in origin. it has a Round Funnel Bowl with a solid section at the base containing an air tear. Sits on an inverted baluster knop stem again with an air tear above a very high domed and folded foot. The glass has taken up a slight amethyst colour. this is caused by manganese being added to reduce the green tint resulting from iron particles in the glass.
It stands 6 1/2 inches tall with a 2 5/8th bowl and a 3 inch foot
