Description
This balustroid glass from c.1750 has a funnel bowl above an inverted baluster knop. The stem also contains an air tear. This form has long been associated with Liege. The bowl has a continuous band of foliage and scrolls engraved below the rim. The bowl also features an engraved running fox and to the reverse a single flower and foliage that we are unable to identify. It has a folded foot.
The metal has an excellent grey colour and period tooling marks as expected. The glass stands 6 inches high and has a 2 3/4 inch bowl with a 2 5/8ths inch foot. No chips cracks or restoration.
