Description
Georgian wine glass with “Lynn” rings and an opaque twist stem c1760.
The round funnel bowl features fine Lynn rings. The double series opaque twist stem consists of a 21-ply spiral band utside two pairs of spiral threads. The foot is conical and it has a rough snapped pontil. This is marginally taller than another almost identical example that was sold recently. Although it is often referred to as Lynn “moulding” the design was tooled. not moulded
English lead. with no chips cracks or restoration. the glass measures 5 5/8 inches tall with a 2 inch bowl and 2 15/16th inch foot.
