SOLD – Georgian Rib Moulded Mercury Twist Wine c1750

Description

An exceptional Georgian rib moulded mercury twist wine glass c1750 with a large bowl (3 times the normal capacity). Sits on a mercury twist stem consisting of a pair of corkscrews.  Conical foot.  

Lead glass. no chips cracks or restoration. the glass measures 6 ½ inches tall with a 2 7/8 inch bowl and 2 7/8 inch foot.

We have seen this bowl style on both an opaque twist and plain a stem but never on a mercury twist. An exceptionally fine glass.
