The flower is a hybrid of a cranesbill and sunflower or passion flower and sunflower. The leaves are those of a cranesbill. This could be a simple acrostic CS or the more Catholic interpretation being the latter. We have written previously about engraved passion flowers on wine glasses.

We have also sold one quite similar example

On this occasion we believe that this is simply a decorative engraving or a simple acrostic. Not every flower is a means to sedition.
