SOLD – Georgian Air Twist Wine Glass c1750

Description

An exceptional Georgian Air Twist Wine Glass c1750.

It has a beautiful round funnel bowl with band of perfect honeycomb moulding to the centre and flute moulding to the base. Sits on a shoulder knopped multi spiral air twist stem above a conical foot with snapped pontil.

English lead. no chips or cracks. we can detect that the foot has been reduced professionally at some point in the past. It measures 6 ¼ inches tall with a 2 7/8 inch bowl and 2 13/16 inch foot and we would expect the it be the same as or  a tad  larger than the bowl to maintain its balanced look.
