*Some collectors prefer to put glasses back into seemingly pristine condition . The ratio foot diameter/bowl diameter and the absolute differential is more than acceptable in this instance.
The edge of the foot is still "fattened" having been fire polished. It is the wear line on the underside of the foot that has been polished. More specifically the rim of the foot has not been ground down and thus reduced and subsequently polished.
Using this glass for a decade or two will restore the requisite wear. Some prefer emery paper and the obfuscation they believe this achieves.
