If the very small flake chip is an irritant then have it restored. There are two methods, resin fills and grinding and polishing. The latter when undertaken with skill can be very difficult to detect as the restorer will apply artificial wear. This is the preferred method withing the antique glass dealing community. Resin fills are easily detected with a UV lamp they do however maintain the integrity of the glass item. This glass could polished as the flake chip is very shallow. We are selling this as is. The restoration would be £40+VAT but we believe it not to be necessary as it does not detract from the aesthetic.

The double series mercury remains a highly sought after variant of air twist glass
