A Georgian Balustroid Wine Glass c1730
The metal is very dark indicative of high lead content. It has an ogee bowl above a stem with an excellent ball knop. Conical folded foot. There is a very old collectors label on the base stating “circa 1720” which is a little ambitious. No chips cracks or restoration. There is a slag seed at the base of the bowl. a common feature of early glass. A wide fold on the foot. again a sign of an early glass.
English lead. it measures 5 ½ inches tall with a 1 7/8 inch bowl and 2 5/8th inch foot.
