Heading : A pedestal stem champagne glass or sweetmeat

Bowl : Saucer top. rib moulded bowl
Stem : Eight sided pedestal. A merese -blade collar and anular cushion. There is no air tear in the stem. that is an illusion created by internal reflections.
Foot : Rib moulded domed and folded
Pontil : Snapped
Glass Type : Lead 
Size :  15.5cm height.  9.0cm diameter bowl. 7.8cm diameter foot 
Condition : Excellent. no chips or cracks 
Restoration : None 
Weight:  285grams 

Yet another glass that contravenes the myth about Georgian stemware. the diameter of the domed and folded foot is less that that of the bowl and it has never been ground or polished.

Was this intended to be a champagne glass or a sweetmeat glass for serving comfits and candied peel. Considering the immense cost of table glass dyring the mid 18th century the answer will probably be both.
