SOLD- Superbly Engraved “Newcastle” Light Baluster c1750

Description

A Georgian Light Baluster wine glass having a round funnel bowl finely engraved with two winged Putti holding a wreath with two doves below.on the reverse is the inscription Nos Plaisirs Sont Egeaux. “our pleasures are equal”.both Putti have beautifully polished wings.

Probably engraved to celebrate a marriage.

Standing on a multi knopped stem and plain conical foot. this fine glass is 7 9/16th inches tall with a 3 inch bowl and foot
