Description
An excellent Georgian Egg and Dart engraved wine glass which dates to c1800. It has a conical bowl with the egg and dart around the rim and slice cuts to the base which continue down to the base of the stem. Conical foot with polished pontil. English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. It has a few pin pricks on the underside wear rim but these are very much part of the expected wear on the glass and not damage. It measures 5 ½ inches tall with a 3 2/8 inch bowl and 2 ¾ inch foot.
This form is regarded as the end of the fact cut era c1790 to c1800 and this is a fine example.
