Additional Information : The perceived antithesis of neo-classicism. the influence of designs on Chinese porcelain imported into Europe by the Dutch east india company resonated with an adoring public. By the late 18th century taste had changed and the vogue was for the European “grand tour” and it’s sights and art. This is reminiscent of so many early 18th century Kangxi. Worcester and Chelsea/ Derby porcelain designs from 1755-70.The engraving was in all probability copied from imported or home produced porcelain itself being a copy or influenced by porcelain Chinese imports.
