Description
A large Georgian facet cut wine glass c1780 which has a round funnel bowl with OXO cutting and engraving around the rim. It has a diamond facet cut stem with conical foot and polished pontil.
English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. it measures 4 5/8 inches tall with a 2 ¾ inch bowl and 3 inch foot.
It has a single scratch to the bowl as shown which is reflected in the price but it is a fine and large example of this form. Scratches are frequenly caused by rings and similar. this however is a short. narrow cut. and was probably done when the decoration was being applied.
