Heading : A Georgian facet cut stem wine glass engraved with rose and leaves

Origin : England 
Colour : Clear, engraved with a rose with polished detail. This has three leaves to the left, two sharing the same petiole the other leaf is unattached. The three leaves to the right all share the same petiole and a Jay in flight.
Bowl : Ogee with petal cutting
Stem : Elongated scallop cut diamonds
Foot : Conical
Pontil : Snapped
Glass Type : Lead 
Size :  15cm height,  5.5cm diameter bowl, 7.0cm diameter foot 
Condition : Excellent, no chips or cracks 
Restoration : None 
Weight:  146grams 

The standard formation on a Jacobite wine glass two leaves and open bud facing two leaves and a closed bud or three leaves facing across the rose to a single bud and two leaves. Both invariably have three elements either side of the rose. This is not a coindidence.The Jay in flight is a direct reference to Aesops fable of the Jay and the Peacock.
