This is an exceptional Jacobite glass. This style of the rose is very rare. An example can be seen on Plate 25 page 89 of ‘The Jacobites and their Drinking Glasses’ by Geoffrey Seddon. The large four pointed star is unusual but documented.It ws used intentionally to represent the cross. the rightful claim and support of of the one true church and the papacy.
