The pontil has been polished. This may suggest a slighly later date or a specific request of those who commissioned te manufacture and or engraving. The area polished is ovoid and all the polishing lines run in single direction as every collector would demand.

A two bud wine glass with oak leaf, See The Jacobites and Their Drinking Glasses- Geoffrey Seddon. The open bud has an identical cut across the centre to that on page 154 and shares the same cutting design below. The rose the small cut out sections at the edge of the petals. It also has three internal loops and cross-hatched centre. The closed bud also has the same structure. Seddon attributes this engraving to Engraver E
