Description
A Georgian Engraved Opaque twist wine glass c1760. It has a bell bowl beautifully engraved with a large carnation with rose leaves. verso a large moth. a symbol of the returning soul “via the low road”. Sits on a shoulder knopped single series opaque twist stem consisting of a pair of 17 ply corkscrews. Conical foot snapped pontil. Lead glass. no chips cracks or restoration. it measures 6 ¼ inches tall with a 2 ½ inch bowl and 3 inch foot.
