SOLD – Georgian Opaque Twist Cordial Glass c.1760

Description

A very elegant Georgian opaque twist cordial c1760.  It has an ogee bowl above a double series opaque twist stem consisting of a very fine 18-ply spirial band outside a pair of spiral threads. Conical foot snapped pontil.

We have not observed this before in an opaque twist glass. the enamel has a distinct pinkish hue rather than the standard ivory white….a very pleasing effect which can be seen clearly in the group pictures.

English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. ir measures 6 5/8 inches tall with a 1 7/8 inch bowl and 2 7/8 inch foot.
