Description
An excellent Georgian Opaque Twist Wine glass c1760.
This is a particularly fine opaque twist in every sense. It has a deep ogee bowl above a multi spiral opaque twist stem with a central swelling knop. The elements within the opaque twist are extremely fine and there is very little distortion through the knop. It is worth noting that a multi spiral twist is classified as a single series twist and accounts for only 5% of all opaque twist glasses.
Conical foot snapped pontil. It measures 5 3/4 inches tall with a 2 1/8 bowl and a 2 5/8 inch foot.
English lead. no chips cracks or restoration.
