SOLD – Irish Georgian Engraved Double Series Opaque Twist c1760

Description

A beautiful 18th century opaque twist wine glass with an engraved ovoid bowl. Decorated with cross hatched swags with tassels the epitome of neo-classical design. The stem is quite thick for the size of the glass this is usually associated with Irish origin and it features a seven ply spiral band outside a multiply corkscrew. It has a conical foot with a snapped pontil.

English lead. it measures 5 1/4 inches tall with a 2 1/4 inch bowl and a 3 inch foot. It is clean and clear with no chips. cracks and no restoration.
