A magnificent pair of antique Irish opaque twist cordial glasses c1780
Very small round funnel bowls with a band of alternating printie cuts and gold stars around the rim with rib moulding to the lower half of the bowl that feayures a solid base. They sit on thick Double Series Opaque Twist stems consisting of two pairs of spiral threads outside gauze columns. Conical feet with snapped pontils.
English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. they measure 6 ¾ inches tall with 1 5/8 inch bowls and 3 inch feet.
Rare to find a pair or such stunning examples and certainly the best we have had in recent years.
Please note he date. The first glass house in Ireland to produce lead glass was not founded until the early 1770s
