SOLD – Rare Georgian Double Series Opaque Twist Wine Glass c1760

Description

An 18th century opaque twist wine glass c1760. The round funnel bowl sits above a very rare example of a double series opaque twist stem consisting of a pair of 12-ply corkscrews entwined with a solid corkscrew. Conical foot with snapped pontil. English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. it measures 5 7/8 inches tall with a 2 inch bowl and 2 5/8 inch bowl.

This is the very first example we have had with this specific permutation of twist  and it is simply beautiful.
