Description
A very unusual 18th century opaque twist wine glass c1760 with a rib moulded bowl above a short opaque twist stem consisting of a 15-ply spiral band outside a pair of spiral tapes. Conical foot snapped pontil.
The bowl has been engraved on alternate panels with delicate fruiting vines and would be classified as a “short wine” glass having a large bowl and short stem. English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. it measures 5 inches tall with a 2 5/8 inch bowl and 2 ¾ inch foot.
