Description
A Georgian Bell Bowl Opaque Twist wine glass c1760.
It has a bell bowl with a solid section at the base sometimes associated with northern European soda glasses. however this is a lead glass. It may be English or may also be from Liege. The Victoria and Albert museum have an identical form in lead with a slightly different twist which is attributed to Liege c1770.
The stem features a shoulder knop with a pair of 8 ply spiral bands outside a lace column.
It stands 6 5/8th inches tall with a 2 1/2 inch flared bowl and 3 inch foot. No chips. cracks or restoration.
