SOLD – Georgian Engraved Single Series Opaque Twist Wine Glass c1760

Description

A truly superb Georgian opaque twist wine glass c1760. The round funnel bowl is engraved with fruiting vine as a continuous band around the rim of the bowl with sharp petal moulding around the base. It sits sits on a single series opaque twist stem. a single solid corkscrew. Conical foot with snapped pontil. This is a rare form and it is quite mesmerising in it’s simplicity.

In immaculate condition. English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. it measures 6 1/8 inches tall with a 2 3/8 inch bowl and 2 11/16 inch foot.
