A substantial antique Irish glass sweetmeat with eight sided pedestal stem c1785
It has a scalloped rim above large cut low profile diamonds. The eight sided pedestal stem has a large air tear and is relatively thick for the size of the sweetmeat dish. typical of Irish examples. The octagonal foot has hemispherical slice cuts to each side and a snapped pontil.No chips cracks or restoration it measures 6 inches tall with a 4 1/8 inch bowl and 3 inch foot.
The cutting style is usually associated with Cork. The cutting is extremely precise.
