The heavier construction. grey blue hue and thicker stem indicates that this may be Irish in origin. Alternatively it may simply be an earlier example made in England prior to the imposition of the first glass tax and this is far more probable. Nobody knows. nobody can be certain. Irish attribution alone always commands a higher price and for this reason there are disproportionate number of so called “Irish” wine glasses.
