A Georgian Export Glass c1770. light green in colour with a hollow knopped stem above a high conical foot. English lead. made for the continental. European export market. The hollow stems may have reduced the weight and consequently carriage costs as the literature states. however. they are reminiscent of “roemer” style glasses and their design must have been influneced by this continental perennial.
We have included a group picture of three examples. this glass is situated “centre stage”
No chips or cracks or restoration. it measures 6 ¼ inches tall with a 2 ½ inch bowl and 2 5/8 inch foot.
