Description
A superb Georgian Rib Moulded Plain Stem Wine Glass c1760.
The bowl is simply stunning. It has 20 rib moulded flutes that really play with the light. They cover the lower three quarters of the bowl as shown. It has a simple plan stem and conical foot with a snapped pontil. English lead. It stands 5 inches tall with a 2 inch bowl and a 2 1/2 inch foot. There is an air bubble in one of the flutes and some much smaller ones in the bowl. There is a slag seed in the foot. but these are features of period glass and do not detract in any way. English lead. no chips. cracks or restoration.
