The very large bowl of this glass makes it suitable for modern drinkers who tend to prefer a larger glass than our Georgian ancestors. The price of wine had a huge impact on the size of Georgian wine glasses and this was influenced by war and bad harvest. This must have been made in a good year for Georgian wine drinkers.
