Colour : Clear , good smokey hue
Bowl : Bell shaped, strong pucella marks. Air tear at junction of bowl and stem
Stem : Thick plain stem
Foot : Conical folded
Pontil : Snapped
Glass Type : Lead
Size :  Height 17.8cms, Bowl 8.5cms Foot 9.3
Condition : Excellent. There is a trapped air bubble in the foot.
Restoration : None
Weight: 286

The capacity of wine glasses varied widely in te 18th century. Capacity was reduced with the advent of glass tax, phylloxera, alcohol duties imposed to fund to wars against the French and colonials in the Americas. It was not until the early 19th century that wine glasses were restored to their early 18th century stature.
