Description
A superb and very rare Georgian Rhenish wine glass c1780 made in the style of a “Roemer” for export from England to Northern Europe in the mid 18th cen.
It has a Wrythen Cup bowl with a supporting milled collar at the base. The stem is hollow. ribbed and has applied raspberry prunts. Sits on a conical folded foot with a snapped pontil.
English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. it measures an impresive 6 ¼ inches tall with a 2 3/8 inch bowl and 3 1/8 inch foot.
