Description
A superb Georgian Regency Red Wine Glass dating to c1820.
This glas is remarkable for the colour. Many would mistake this for “cranberry glass” . however. it is Regency Red and amongst the rarest of colours for regency period glass.
The bowl is engraved with large fruiting vines. leaves and bunches of grapes. It has a drawn tulip bowl and a ground and polished pontil. English lead glass. No chips . cracks or restoration. There is a minor burst air bubble in the base of the bowl.
It stands 5 1/4 inches tall with a 2 3/8th bowl and a 2 1/2 inch foot.
