Description
An Irish Cut Port or Dram Glass which dates to c1830
The national museum of Ireland has a fantastic collection or period glass and identical examples may be viewed . It has a cup bowl above a plain stem with a bladed knop. plain foot with polished pontil. The bowl has been engraved with a geometric band. This consists of fans set above adjoining octagonal printies with fine diamond cutting at the base. Below this is a further band of prism cuts. It is a stunner. Purchased as part of a private collection in Wicklow Ireland.
It stands 3 3/4 inches tall with a 2 1/2 bowl and 2 1/2 foot. Perfect condition . no restoration.
