Rebecca is an ideal muse for Art Nouveau sculptures as her appearance at the well represents an idealised form of femininity that lends itself perfectly to the movement. Having said that, given the fact that she is generally considered to have either been 3 or 14 years old at the time, a fully developed Rebecca by the well is a little apocryphal.
