Te thistle does have some Jacobite significance. It remains the symbol of the Order Of The Thistle, founded by James II the last of the Stuart Kings. The noble order is second only to the Most Noble Order Of The Garter. The Order of The Thistle motto Nemo Impune Me Lacessit is in common with that of Scotland. No one provokes me unpunished. We shall see about that in the coming months, nobody should get away Scot-free de bonis asportatis.
