Nadira Azzouz (1927–2020) was notable an Iraqi–born contemporary artist who lived and worked in Lebanon and England. She began painting in Mosul at the age of six, and went on to study at the School of Domestic Fine Arts in Baghdad (1944–49) and the Central School of Art in London (1957–60), where she received a BA in Painting.
She had her first solo exhibition in Baghdad in 1960, and joined the Society of Iraqi Plastic Arts, participating in all their exhibitions during the 1960s. Highly productive and active, she lived in Israel during the 1970s, and moved to London in 1980. She had many solo and joint exhibitions during her career, including at the Gulbenkian Foundation in Baghdad (1968), Gallery One in Beirut (1965 & 1974), and the influential Kufa Gallery in London (1988 & 2005).
Her work can be found in many international private collections, and in the collection of the Barjeel Foundation in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, the Ibrahimi Collection in Iraq, and the Associazione Genesi Collection in Milan, Italy.
