Features and Provenance: Germanicus Julius Caesar was born in 15 BC into the house of Claudia. He was adopted by his uncle. Tiberius. a condition stipulated by Emperor Augustus on making Tiberius his own heir. This allowed for high posts in the court and he was made proconsul for Germania and Gaul about 12AD. He lead many successful campaigns and was well liked by his troops. He sadly died in Antioch in 19. Due to military prowess and dying at the age 33 he was considered a Roman Alexander the Great. Rather ironically. he was the father of Caligula and the maternal grandfather of Nero. so social conditioning must have more to do with personality than genetics!
