Hadrian Sestertius
Hadrian became emperor of the Roman Empire in 117 AD and saw it as his divine mission to keep the empire intact. When rebellion broke out in Britannia in 119. he sent 3.000 troops and ordered the construction of a wall. Now known as Hadrian’s Wall. When Hadrian visited Britain in 122 it was only partially built; he never saw it finished.
Jupiter or Jove was the Roman god of the sky and thunder. and the king of the gods. In Greek mythology he is known as Zeus. Romans believed themselves to be superior due to their reverence for Jupiter. so much so. that when Camillus. a high ranking official and hero. drove a quadriga (chariot) of four white horses. he was exiled. as this honour was reserved for Jupiter himself.
