Features and Provenance: The sovereign and half sovereign continue to be a favourite of collectors and the 2000 was no exception. with only 7.500 issued.
The year 2000 was memorable in some ways. The turn of the millennium and the bug that was threatened but never manifested itself to any degree. It will also be remembered for Queen Elizabeth II having her 74th birthday and her mother having her centenary!The last commercial flight of Corcorde.
On the flip side Tony Blair was Prime Minister of Britain and Bill Clinton had just become President of the United States and Vladimir Putin became Russia’s new President.
