Features and Provenance: Henry V one of the greatest of kings. His victory at the battle of Agincourt is well known. but although he was considered charming and gracious. he was also ruthless – after battle he ordered every man over the age of 12 to be killed – and much worse for some and yes that is possible. His nefarious deeds have been glossed over in the past. when needed. to use him as a propaganda tool. even as late as World War II.
For our American cousins this is the man whose archers probably came up with the “inverse” victory salute.
