Kelso racecourse held its first race in 1734 and is still going strong today with its most notable races being the Morebattle Hurdle and the Premier Kelso Hurdle. This stunning tea service is not only of interest to fans of the sport but is also of exceptional quality. With a combined weight of almost two kilograms it is an imposing service. The sugar bowl and cream jug have parcel gilt interiors and all pieces have a heavy gauge. This was a remarkable act of generosity.
