Description
An excellent early Sweetmeat Glass dating to between 1690 and 1700.
It has a lipped round funnel bowl with a folded rim and gadrooned lower bowl. Cushion knop above a tapered plain stem on a high conical folded foot.
English lead. no chips cracks or restoration. it measures 4 ½ inches tall with a 3 1/8 inch bowl and 3 inch foot.
Having both a folded rim and a folded foot it is a superb early example. exactly the same glass is shown in plate 33 ( Q36) of ‘Glass in the Eighteenth Century. The Footed Salver” by Keith Kelsall.
