Description
A superb example. measuring almost 8 inches tall. this is an English or Dutch toasting glass which dates to between 1690 and 1700. They were made in both counties in the late 17th cen in soda metal. It has a large drawn bowl above a very thin stem with a conical foot. No chips cracks or restoration. it measures 7 15/16th inches tall with a 3 1/16 inch bowl and 3 ¼ inch foot.
It has a small patch of crizzling on the bowl as shown. thia is however is very minor. The ‘flexible’ stem which can quite literally bend (I do not recommend that you try this).
A magnificent example and quite simply put it is the best and earliest toasting glass we have had during the last ten years.
