Heading : Prisoner of war domino set
Date : Early 19th century
Period : George III / Regency
Origin : Either a prison hulk (ship), or prison Barracks
Decoration : Bone box with fan decoration on the sliding cover. Full set of dominoes within along with two dice.
Size : 7.5cm length,  3cm width, 2.3cm height
Condition : Very good – some wear anddiscolouration and a smal loss to oneside panel by the cover, the cover is still secure however
Restoration : None
Weight :  74 grams

There are 36 dominoes. The French variation includes an additional 8 dominoes as the highest number is 7. The major issues for the incarcerated POWs was boredom and lack of food. These small items were made to sell such that they had some money to supplement their diet when they have knawed the meat off the bones.
