Decoration : Central image of Tonbridge Castle, cover bordered with woolwork florla pattern. Side panels of cover with geometirc design and side panels of body with woolwork floral banding. Interior with two compartments and vacant space for mixing bowl. Compartment covers with geometric banding. Thomas Burrows labels to underside of covers.
Size : 30.7cm x 15cm, 17cm height
Condition : Very good – some lifting to cover and general ware throughout though no tesserae losses and no sturctural issues.

Thomas Burrows had a short lived career at the end of the Burrows dynasty, running from c1877 to 1883. This is one of the last pieces made by a family that had been producing Tunbridge ware for over a century.
